It's hard to make a judgment on Eastward. I was pleasantly surprised that it is an action RPG. I fully expected to go into battles and choose attacks from a menu — a mode of engaging with an RPG that I'm still suffering some residual burnout from because of its prevalence in the '90s. The writing is charming, and the art is incredible. That's about all I feel I can confidently say of this one. Will I go back to try to dig in deeper? I'm not feeling the pull, and maybe that's not a great sign.
